This course consists of two modules, each worth 20 credits:
- Level 6 (UZURXY-20-3): Managing Maternal Critical Care
- Level 7 (UZURY3-20-M): Managing Maternal Critical Care The modules cover a comprehensive range of topics:
Level 6:
- Professional and ethical practice
- Managing and prioritizing maternal critical care
- The law and ethics in complex situations
- Anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Identifying occult signs
- High dependency maternal care
- Identifying rapidly changing clinical conditions
- Key transferable and clinical skills
- Clinical reasoning
- Human factors and their impact
- Management of self and others
Level 7:
- Critical need, planning, implementing, and evaluating maternal critical care
- Applying human factors to clinical decision making
- Advanced knowledge and skills for high dependency care in the labor ward
- Function and work of the multi-disciplinary team
- Midwifery leadership

Assessment:
The assessment method for both Level 6 and Level 7 modules is an oral examination lasting 20 minutes.
