Program Overview

The Computing Science program at the University of Glasgow, in partnership with BUiD, offers a comprehensive education in all aspects of computer science. Students can choose from a variety of specializations in their third year onwards, and the program culminates in a substantial individual project. The MSci option provides an additional year of advanced studies and a research-oriented project.

Outline

Years 1 and 2:

• Students complete the curriculum of the BUiD's BSc in Computer Science programs, choosing from either Artificial Intelligence or Software Engineering paths.
• These specialisms offer intensive study in specific areas within computing science.
The available options can vary from year to year.
• Develop essential technical skills and knowledge in areas such as:
• Algorithm design and analysis
• Data manipulation and management
• Human-centered system design and evaluation
• System programming
• Professional software development
• Teamwork and communication
• Research methodology and application

Year 5 (Optional):

• For MSci students only.
• Encompasses advanced modules for specialized knowledge and a research-oriented project that allows students to apply their learnings to real-world scenarios.
• Allows for potential specialization further depending on research project chosen.
