The program awards NCEA credits and provides funding assistance and scholarships. It will transition to Te Pūkenga in 2023, and places are limited.

Degree Overview:
This program, offered as part of the Dual Enrolment initiative, provides students in Years 11, 12, or 13 with an opportunity to explore the automotive industry while earning NCEA credits.
Outline:
- Content: Explores various automotive trades, including:
- Vehicle and machine preparation for shutdown
- Operation of two and four-stroke petrol and diesel engines
- Applications of welding in the motor industry
- Structure: Delivered one day per week (Christchurch: Fridays 9:00am - 3:00pm; Timaru: Thursdays or Fridays 9:00am - 3:00pm)
- Modules:
- Unit/Achievement Standard 29580: Demonstrates good work habits and safe work practices in the automotive industry
- Unit/Achievement Standard 30476: Demonstrates knowledge of tools and equipment used in the motor industry
- Unit/Achievement Standard 21857: Identifies the occupational areas and purpose of the New Zealand motor industry
