  • Theory & Practice In Art & Design (20 Credits): This module provides an introduction to major developments in art, design, photography, illustration, and comic art from the 20th century onwards, exploring how global events and technological advancements have influenced these fields.

Year 0 Optional Modules:

  • Ideas Generation in Art (20 Credits): Students are introduced to the art pathway through technical instruction workshops in various media such as wood, metal, photography, textiles, ceramics, and digital processes.
  • The focus is on experimenting and generating multiple ideas and possibilities for creative expression and storytelling.
  • Ideas Generation in Design (20 Credits): Similar to the art module, this focuses on technical instruction experiences within the design pathway, encouraging exploration and experimentation in different areas.
  • The aim is to generate multiple ideas and explore potential solutions within design disciplines.
  • Problem-Solving in Art (20 Credits): Students apply their knowledge and skills gained throughout the semester to specific art disciplines.
  • This involves taster sessions from each of the 12 degree courses available in later years, allowing them to test out different approaches and gain insights into various artistic careers.
