This short course delves into global education issues and examines various educational practices around the world. Course Structure:
The course is delivered entirely online, spanning 12 weeks in Semester 1, commencing on September 23, 2024. No on-campus attendance is required.
Course Schedule:
The schedule consists of:
- Presentations (30%): Students will prepare and deliver a 5-minute individual video presentation on a chosen aspect of education in two contrasting nations. Possible topics include initial teacher education (ITE), educational progression, assessment methods, and gender dynamics within education.
- Written Assignment (70%): Students will select one country's educational system and analyze its strengths, limitations, and potential for adaptation within their own national context. This critical analysis should be presented in a 4000-word essay.
