Program Description:
The MSNS program at ASU offers a rigorous curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Students delve into the scientific foundations of human nutrition while acquiring specialized skills in areas such as:

Tracks:
The program offers two specialization tracks:
Sports Nutrition Track:
This track focuses on the nutritional needs of athletes, covering topics such as exercise physiology, hydration, electrolyte regulation, and sports supplements.
Maternal-Child Health Track:
This track emphasizes the promotion of health and well-being for women and children, including policy and advocacy, leadership development, medical nutrition therapy, and ethical considerations.
Internship Opportunities:
Students have the option to pursue concurrent enrollment in the Arizona State University Dietetic Internship program, enabling them to meet the requirements to become a registered dietitian nutritionist.
Degree Requirements:
The MSNS program consists of 30 credit hours, including core courses, restricted electives, open electives, a research component, and a culminating experience. Students can choose between a traditional thesis option or an applied project option.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants must hold a bachelor's or master's degree (in nutrition or a related science field) from a regionally accredited institution. Specific prerequisite courses are required, including anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, general chemistry with lab, general nutrition for majors, organic chemistry with lab, and statistics. Applicants must also have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 and submit a personal statement, resume, three references, and proof of English proficiency.
