Objective:

The DMA program in music with a concentration in conducting aims to refine conducting skills and artistry while developing expertise in multiple areas of conducting. It fosters well-rounded conductors adept at diverse musical settings and genres.


Program Description:

  • Emerging conductors receive individual mentorship from the conducting faculty.
  • Significant podium time with instrumental or choral ensembles is provided.
  • Three tracks are available: Choral, Orchestra and Opera, and Wind Band conducting.

Core Courses (18 credit hours):
