Degree Overview:
The PSM program in forensic science aims to:
- Advance the careers of professionals in forensic science, law enforcement, medicolegal, and related fields.
- Equip students with in-depth knowledge and skills in forensic sciences and laboratory supervision.
- Develop competencies in working with regulatory bodies for oversight in forensic laboratories.
- Enhance scientific inquiry skills in biology, chemistry, genetics, and related topics.
- Refine critical laboratory leadership skills.
- Prepare graduates for administrative and advancement opportunities within and beyond forensic science laboratories in both government and private sectors.

Program Structure:
- 30 credit hours including an applied project course (FOR 593)
- Divided into two categories: Required Core and Other Requirements
Required Core (9 credit hours):
- FOR 525: Forensic Science and Governance (3)
- FOR 550: Ethics in Forensic Science (3)
- FOR 565: Laboratory Leadership, Policy, and Practice (3)
Other Requirements (18 credit hours):
- Choose 18 credit hours from the following courses:
- FOR 501: Forensic Toxicology (3) or FOR 532: Principles of Pharmacology (3)
- FOR 502: Advanced Forensic Botany (3) or FOR 503: Forensic Entomology (3)
- FOR 560: Quantitative Methods in Forensic Science Research (3), BMI 515: Applied Biostatistics in Medicine and Informatics (3) or HCD 501: Population Health Data Management and Analysis (3)
