Degree Overview:
This program is a multidisciplinary program designed to give students a well-rounded understanding of animal welfare science, conservation biology, and environmental sustainability. The program takes a "One Welfare" approach, considering the welfare of all animals, from farmed animals to wild animals.
Objectives:

Program Description:
The program is divided into three years, with each year focusing on different aspects of animal welfare and conservation.
- Year 1: Students learn about the basics of animal welfare science, including how to define and assess welfare. They also learn about the principles of planetary health and environmental sustainability.
- Year 2: Students learn about the many welfare issues associated with animal production and conservation systems. They also learn about the causes of biodiversity loss and how to mitigate it.
- Year 3: Students apply their knowledge to real-world problems by completing an independent research project. They also choose two optional modules from a variety of subjects, such as environmental and animal advocacy, wildlife crime and trade, and animal welfare during emergencies and disasters.
