• Integrated industry links allow students to work with professionals as part of their studies and plan events and research for real clients.

Outline:

• Year 1: Introduction to Event Design, Digital Innovation, Global Challenges, Essential Business Topics, Client Briefing, Live Event Design and Production.
• Year 2: Business Events, Music Festivals, Mega Events, Sports Events, Advanced Event Design and Production, Industry Placement (Optional).
• Year 3: Project Management, Event Sustainability, Capstone Project, Industry Placement (Optional), Study Abroad (Optional).

Assessment:

• Varied assessment methods including essays, portfolios, supervised independent work, presentations, written exams, and practical performances.
• Emphasis on timely and appropriate feedback to enable students to reflect on their progress and develop their skills.
• Additional feedback available from course tutors.
• Year 1: 75% coursework, 13% written exams, 12% practical exams.
• Year 2: 75% coursework, 0% written exams, 25% practical exams.
• Year 3: 87% coursework, 13% written exams, 0% practical exams.

Teaching:

• Combination of lectures and seminars, allowing opportunities to discuss and develop understanding in smaller groups.
• Independent learning encouraged, with opportunities for self-directed research and problem-solving.
• Class-based teaching takes place between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday during term time.
• Occasional learning opportunities outside of these hours may occur.
