Program Overview

This MSc program in Water Management and Leadership equips students with the skills and knowledge to lead and innovate in the water sector. It focuses on the Water-Food-Energy Nexus, business, environmental policies, and sustainable technology. Students develop managerial skills, responsible leadership, and water management expertise, preparing them for senior roles in water management, government, environmental consultancy, or further research.

• Students will develop key managerial skills for the water and environmental sectors, through the development of responsible leadership and water management expertise.

• Addresses the UN goal of ensuring safe and affordable drinking water for all by 2030.
• Prepares students for senior leadership roles in water management, enabling them to take an existing career to a strategic leadership level, work in government or environmental consultancy, or consider further research.
• Combines theoretical and practical learning, with industry case studies, guest lectures, field trips, and group projects.
• Students have the opportunity to network with water professionals and stakeholders from various groups such as the Water Research Centre (WRc Group).
• Directed learning tasks enable preparation for class and active participation in discussions.
• Assessments blend management theory with professional practice through business reports, presentations, case study analysis, decision-making exercises, and policy critiques.
• Equips leaders with the knowledge and flexibility to respond to complex problems within the integrated water, stormwater, and wastewater sectors.

Course Structure:

• Full-time: 1 year
• Part-time: 2+ years
• 8 core modules followed by a research project.
