Program Overview


This Infrastructure Asset Management Professional Apprenticeship equips participants with the skills and knowledge to lead in the field. Through a blended learning approach, apprentices gain expertise in asset management, leadership, and innovation. Upon completion, they receive an Infrastructure Asset Management Professional Apprenticeship and an MSc in Infrastructure Asset Management. The program is fully funded and available to UK students.

Degree Overview


Objectives:

  • Equip participants with the management and leadership capabilities required to lead at a senior level in the field of Infrastructure Asset Management.
  • Develop participants' ability to formulate and lead the development of asset management policy, strategy, plans and objectives.
  • Enable participants to adapt to new scenarios and implement effective solutions.
  • Help participants foster more effective working relationships and build lasting networks.
  • Equip participants with the ability to become adaptable, innovative, inclusive, and ethically-minded infrastructure asset management leaders.

Description:

This apprenticeship is a collaborative effort between Loughborough University and industry stakeholders. It is specifically designed to meet the latest government standard for knowledge, skills, and behaviors expected in asset managers at the senior level. Participants will benefit from a blended learning approach, including face-to-face teaching sessions, online learning modules, and work-based assignments. The program covers a wide range of topics, including personal effectiveness, leadership, innovation, project management, risk management, finance, performance management, and data analysis.


Completion:

Upon successful completion of the program and an End Point Assessment, apprentices receive two awards:

  • Infrastructure Asset Management Professional Apprenticeship
  • MSc in Infrastructure Asset Management

Modules:

  • Year 1: Personal Values and Effectiveness, Strategy, Governance and Risk, Principles of Asset Management, Finance and Performance Management, Asset Management Operations, Risk and Resilience.
  • Year 2: Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Engineering, Applied Systems Thinking, Leading and Influencing Change, Information Management and Analytical Tools
  • Year 3: Master's Business Project

Course Schedule:

The program is delivered through a part-time format over 28 months.

  • Block delivery: Modules are taught in blocks, with in-person group learning, online preparation, and access to materials.
