Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


A-level:

  • Grades AAB at A-Level.
  • Alternatively, A-Level grades ABB including either A-Level Mathematics or Computer Science.
  • Excludes General Studies and Critical Thinking.

International Baccalaureate (IB):

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 34 points overall, including 6,6,5 from three Higher Level subjects.

Access HE:

  • Considered for students with the Access to Higher Education Diploma in Computing.
  • Minimum academic requirement is 60 credits overall, with 45 credits at Level 3, of which 30 credits must be at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit or higher.
  • Applications considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • GCSE Mathematics at grade B/5 required in addition to the Access qualification.

GCSE:

  • Minimum five GCSE passes including English at grade C or 4 and Maths at grade B or 5.

Extended Project Qualification:

  • Alternative offers may be made to applicants taking the Extended Project Qualification.

Non-UK students:

  • To apply, you must be either:
  • a citizen of the UK or European Economic Area (EEA)
  • or have lived in the UK or EEA for the past three consecutive years

International qualifications:

  • Queen Mary accepts a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications.
  • You may also be able to meet the English language requirement by joining a summer pre-sessional programme before starting your degree.
