This innovative four-year BSc (Hons) degree apprenticeship program, developed in partnership with PwC, aims to fast-track your career in technology and business by combining academic study with practical work experience.
Program Objectives:
- Graduate with both a BSc degree and four years of relevant industry experience.
- Develop the essential skills and knowledge to become a proficient data analyst.
- Gain a deep understanding of data analysis techniques and their application within business contexts.
Year 1:
- Teaching Block: Procedural Programming, Information Systems Analysis, Introduction to Data Analysis, Professional Research Practice
- Work-based Learning: The Data Landscape
Year 3:
- Teaching Block: Big Data Processing, Ethics Regulation and Law in Advanced Digital Information Processing and Decision Making, Statistical Data Analysis, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
- Work-based Learning: Final Year Project
Assessment:
Assessment methods include a combination of exams and coursework, including:
- Practical assignments for laboratory-based modules.
End Point Assessment (EPA):
Students will participate in a 12-hour EPA module per semester to prepare for the final End Point Assessment, consisting of:
- Synoptic project: Demonstrates the application of learned skills to a real-world problem.
- Project presentation: Effectively communicates project findings and insights.
- Professional discussion: Evaluates understanding of ethical and professional considerations within the field.
Teaching:
- Teaching and learning: Delivered through lectures, tutorials, lab sessions, and on-the-job training, providing approximately 3-4 hours of weekly contact time per module during the university terms.
- Dedicated support: Students receive ongoing support from Queen Mary and PwC staff throughout the program to ensure academic and professional development.
Careers:
- Graduate destinations: Graduates are expected to secure full-time data analyst positions at PwC, leveraging the expertise and experience gained throughout the program.
- Career support: Queen Mary's Careers and Enterprise service provides guidance on career paths, work experience opportunities, interview coaching, and support with applications.
Other:

Admissions:
- Entry requirements: A-Level grades AAB at A-Level. Alternatively, A-Level grades ABB including either A-Level Mathematics or Computer Science. Excludes General Studies and Critical Thinking.
- Application process: Applications are made through UCAS and involve online assessments including an interview and assessment center.
