Program Overview
The MSc International Human Resource Management program equips students with the knowledge and skills to manage people effectively in a global context. Outline:
You will examine the different models of international human resource management, the major employment policies of multinational companies, and the challenges faced when operating in different countries. You will analyze the relationship between task, people, and technology in the context of change and learn different approaches to leadership and models of organizational change.
- Employee Relations and Engagement (BMT308): This module explores the theory, practice, and processes of employee relations and engagement, building your knowledge and skills needed for successful HR and employee management. It covers the changing nature of employee relations, employee engagement, and various employee relations and engagement practices.
- Human Behaviour at Work (BMT525): This module examines the interplay between social, psychological, and structural factors within organizations and their impact on human behavior in work contexts.
- Business Research Methods (MBA514): This module introduces you to business research methods and statistical analysis. You will learn theoretical, historical, and statistical concepts through lectures and hands-on practical lab sessions, allowing you to apply the theory to real-world scenarios.
- Managing and Building Human Capital (BMT526): This module provides an understanding and critical awareness of contemporary perspectives on the effective management and development of human capital. It covers the human capital context, managing human capital, and developing human capital for effective organizational and individual performance. You will explore the nature of HRM and organizational behavior, employee resourcing, performance management, employee development, employee relations, and rewards and remuneration.
- Research Project (BMT527): The MSc research project is a research-based inquiry into a management issue or issues. You will aim to find a solution to a problem or identify, explain, and analyze elements of good or bad practice in the management of human resources.
