This Public Sector Leadership Short Course provides mid-career professionals with a comprehensive understanding of leadership in the public sector. The course culminates in a written assignment and participation in discussions, preparing participants for leadership roles in the evolving public administration landscape.

This module provides participants with the knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of leadership in the public sector setting. The module also provides opportunities for students to hone their abilities in reflective practice and self-analysis.

Outline:

• Week 1: Leading in a bureaucracy: Introduction to the concept of leadership and its distinction from management.

Assessment:

• One written assignment
• Participation in webinars and discussion forums

Teaching:

• Format: Fully online, with four 1-hour weekly webinars
• Methodology: Range of interactive activities including discussion forums, online readings, interactive lecture videos, and online tutorials
