Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements:
EU Home Students:
- Applicants must hold or be predicted an honours degree (minimum 2:2) in a Life Sciences or related health discipline.
- Relevant work experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Applicants whose first degree is not in Life Sciences will be required to demonstrate a strong foundation in the relevant biological sciences.
- Applicants with a professional qualification in Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health or other relevant subject (e.g., Social Work, Psychology) may also be considered, but will need to satisfy the admissions tutor that they have the necessary academic and professional experience.
- Applicants who do not meet the above criteria may be considered on an individual basis if they can demonstrate exceptional experience and qualifications in a relevant field.
International Overseas Students:
- Applicants must hold an international equivalent of a UK honours degree (minimum 2:2) in a Life Sciences or related health discipline.
- Relevant work experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Applicants whose first degree is not in Life Sciences will be required to demonstrate a strong foundation in the relevant biological sciences.
- Applicants must meet the English language proficiency requirements listed below.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- All applicants, whose first language is not English, must provide evidence of English language proficiency.
- Applicants are required to meet a minimum score of 7.0 on the IELTS Academic test or equivalent.
- Where there is a discrepancy between the overall IELTS score and the individual component scores, overall scores of 6.5 - 6.9 may be considered on condition that the score in each component is no less than 5.5.
- Other equivalent tests may be acceptable, such as the TOEFL or Pearson Test of English Academic.
- The final decision on the admission of any applicant will be made by the Admissions Committee.
