Program Overview

This part-time, online micro-credential program in Medical Billing & Coding prepares students for high-paying jobs in the healthcare industry. Over two semesters, students will learn medical terminology, health insurance forms, medical billing and coding software, and more. The program is designed for individuals seeking to transition into the medical billing & coding field or enter the workforce for the first time.

• Medical Terminology (OFT116)
• Introduction to Health Insurance (OFT150)
• Medical Billing & Coding I (OFT 155)
• Medical Billing & Coding II (OFT 255)
• Courses are taken part-time, online over 2 semesters.
• Topics covered include:
• Medical terminology
• Health insurance forms
• Medical billing and coding software and procedures
• Procedure terminology and HCPCS
• Diagnostic coding with ICD-10
• Claims submission and troubleshooting
