Program Overview
This introductory summer course in Media Design and New Technologies focuses on documentary filmmaking. Participants will learn about documentary theory and practice, develop their own documentary film concept, and gain hands-on experience in producing a short documentary film. The course is designed for students with varying levels of experience and will be held in Rome, Italy from July 9th to July 19th, 2024.

Degree Overview:
The course is designed for students with varying levels of experience, including those with no prior background in the field. The curriculum is divided into three parts:
Introduction to Documentary Film:
This initial segment provides a foundation in documentary theory and practice, covering various styles and formats.
Pre-Production of a Personal or Team Project:
Students will work on developing their own documentary film concept, focusing on pre-production aspects such as research, storyboarding, and budgeting.
Production of a Short Film:
Participants will gain hands-on experience in producing a short documentary film, utilizing the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the course.
Objectives:
- Equip students with a comprehensive understanding of documentary film.
- Introduce the fundamentals of documentary filmmaking, including concept development, pre-production, and production.
- Provide hands-on experience in creating a short documentary film.
