Course Structure:

Stage 1: Design Ideation (60 credits)

Students negotiate a "programme of study" with their tutors to identify topics they want to explore.

They can specialize in one discipline or explore multiple disciplines.

The stage includes creative studio practice relevant to the chosen pathway.

There is a theoretical element that contextualizes the chosen discipline(s) within the broader field of design.

Stage 2: Design Development and Prototypes (60 credits)

Students test out their ideas and experiences through prototyping before the final outcome in Stage 3.

They explore techniques and applications of their ideas.

Practical output and theoretical contextualization continue to interact and build on each other.

Stage 3: Design Realization and Production (60 credits)

Students produce their final design outcomes, resulting in a portfolio of creative work.

The portfolio reflects the practice and theoretical research developed throughout the program.

A Critical Evaluation Report supports the portfolio.
