Course Structure:
The program is structured into three stages:
Stage 1: Design Ideation (60 credits)
- Students negotiate a "programme of study" with their tutors to identify the topics they intend to study and develop.
- They can choose to specialize in one discipline or explore multiple disciplines.
- The stage includes creative studio practice relevant to the chosen pathway.
- A theoretical element contextualizes the chosen discipline(s) within the broader field of design.
Stage 2: Design Ideation (60 credits)
- Students test out their ideas and experiences in a prototyping stage before the final outcome in Stage 3.
- They explore techniques and applications of their ideas.
- Practical output and theoretical contextualization continue to interact and build on each other.
Stage 3: Design Ideation (60 credits)
- Students produce their final design outcomes, leading to a portfolio of creative work that has evolved from the practice and theoretical research developed in previous stages.
- A Critical Evaluation Report supports the portfolio.

- Assessment is 100% coursework.
- Students are continually assessed throughout the course through module requirements.
- Final modules are graded Pass, Merit, Distinction.
