MA Design - Fashion

consists of three stages:


Stage 1:

  • Design Ideation (60 credits): Students negotiate a personalized program of study with their tutors, focusing on their chosen area of specialization.
  • This stage explores creative studio practices relevant to the chosen pathway and develops the theoretical understanding of the chosen design discipline within the broader field of design.

Stage 2:

  • Design Development and Prototypes (60 credits): Students test and refine their ideas and experiment with various techniques before finalizing their design outcomes in Stage 3.
  • This stage emphasizes the interaction between practical output and theoretical contextualization.

Stage 3:

  • Design Realization and Production (60 credits): Students produce their final design outcomes, culminating in a portfolio of creative work that reflects their theoretical and practical development throughout the program.
  • A Critical Evaluation Report supports the portfolio, demonstrating students' critical thinking and analytical skills.

Assessment:


Assessment in the MA Design - Fashion program is 100% coursework-based and continuous throughout the program.

Students are assessed through various modules, allowing them to achieve target awards. Final modules are graded Pass, Merit, or Distinction.
