Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • High School Graduation: Completed high school or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Post-Secondary Education: For applicants with post-secondary experience, a minimum GPA of 2.5 is required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Portfolio: You will be asked to submit a portfolio of your creative writing work, including:
  • One synopsis (up to 1 page) of an original feature film, television, or video game project you're passionate about.
  • Two to four additional creative writing samples in their original form (maximum 20 pages total).
  • Your chosen format and references should showcase your writing style and storytelling abilities.

Language Requirements:

  • English Proficiency: Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
  • TOEFL: Achieve a minimum score of 88 (internet-based).
  • IELTS: Achieve an overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
  • PTE Academic: Achieve a minimum score of 61 with a minimum of 54 in each communicative skill.
  • CAE/CPE: Achieve a minimum Grade C.

Additional Notes:

  • Applicants who have completed the VFS Foundation Visual Art & Design program are exempt from submitting a portfolio.
