  • Core Courses:
  • EDUC 440: Intermediate Teaching Practices (4 Units): Explores classroom management strategies, instructional planning, assessment techniques, and technology integration in a diverse classroom environment.
  • EDUC 497: Subject-Specific Pedagogy: Focuses on developing specific subject knowledge for teaching effectively, emphasizing language arts and mathematics alongside a subject chosen by the student (history, mathematics, science, visual/performing arts, or physical education).
  • Specialization Courses:
  • Focus on enhancing skills for working with diverse populations, learners with special needs, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Supervised Teaching:
  • EDUC 468 and EDUC 478 are both structured as 15 weeks of supervised, culminating field experiences, divided into 7.5-week placements, providing students the opportunity to apply pedagogical strategies and refine their teaching practice.

  • Continuous evaluation through various methods such as classroom observations, reflective writing assignments, lesson plan analysis, student work assessment, presentations, engagement, participation, and performance-based assessments.

  • Applicants must possess a B.A./B.S.
  • degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75 overall and 3.0 in their major.
