BSc Midwifery

Program Overview

Through a 3-year curriculum with a focus on practical training, graduates are equipped to work in all healthcare settings related to midwifery, including assisting in physiological pregnancies, labor, and birth, and providing postpartum support. The program emphasizes global health, sexual and reproductive health, and cancer prevention, preparing graduates to address critical healthcare needs in both developed and developing countries.

Program Outline

• Provide obstetric, gynecological, and preventive curative, palliative, and rehabilitative neonatology care.
• Promote education and protection of women's health throughout their life stages, including couples, children, and the community.
• Offer assistance, therapeutic education, management, training, research, and consultancy.
• Identify the healthcare needs of women, mothers, children, and families.
• Address global health, sexual and reproductive health, and cancer prevention.

The program achieves these objectives through a 3-year training course with the following features:

• 180 University Training Credits (ECTS) are required for graduation.
• 60 ECTS are required for each year of the program.
• A 75% attendance requirement is mandatory.
• Instruction includes front teaching activities, practical training, individual study, laboratories, and student-chosen activities.
• The program concludes with the achievement of 180 ECTS, a practical test for the Midwifery Profession, and a final exam discussion.

Formal teaching:

• Lectures: Delivered by a teacher on a specific topic using computing and/or multimedia supports.

• Interactive didactic activities with small groups of students.
• Learning through problem-solving, methodological skills, practical exercises, and clinical experience.
