Contemporary organizations rely heavily on data. Contemporary professionals must be able to demystify data and present findings to others in an easily understood manner. The Postgraduate Certificate in Business Analytics provides you with the tools needed to confidently work with data. As you progress, you will have the opportunity to relate the topics covered directly to your own organization. Learning is flexible and the program can be taken at a pace that works around your life.
Objectives:
- Equip graduates with the skills and knowledge to confidently work with data.
- Empower graduates to demystify data and present findings to others in an easily understood manner.
- Provide graduates with the opportunity to relate the topics covered directly to their own organization. The following courses build on this knowledge and advance skills so that you will learn and experience more sophisticated and specialized data manipulation techniques along with using dashboard software (such as Power BI). By the completion of the program, you can apply these skills to a real workplace scenario by completing an applied capstone.

Full-time study:
- Term 1: PGQM8.400 Quantitative Methods and Contemporary Tools and MAPM8.160 Strategic Financial Management.
- Term 2: PGDAV8.100 Data Analytics and Visualisation and one of three electives.
Part-time study:
- PGQM8.400 Quantitative Methods and Contemporary Tools is studied first.
- Then (in any order) PGDAV8.100 Data Analytics and Visualisation and MAPM8.160 Strategic Financial Management.
- Then one of three electives.

Dates:
- Four entry dates per year: February, April, July, October
Entry Requirements:
- A NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
- Provisional entry for applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements but present evidence of ability to succeed (e.g., maturity, life experience, work experience, other study)
- Applicants who narrowly fail to meet the entry criteria above
English Language Entry Requirements:
- Successful study of a program in which English was the language of instruction (subject to the conditions in EIT’s Database for English Language Proficiency (DELP))
- Completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 5 with any endorsement)
- IELTS Academic score of 6.5, with no band score lower than 6, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment
- Accepted international equivalents to the above IELTS scores, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment (see equivalency tables in the DELP)
Entry with Credit:
- You may apply for Cross Credit (CC) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if you have prior knowledge or skills that can be recognized as part of your intended study.
- CC is based on the equivalency of courses or qualifications.
- RPL is based on the assessment of your current knowledge and skills.
- There is a fee for RPL.
