Program Description:
This immersive short course focuses on historical techniques used in medieval manuscripts. Participants gain insights by closely studying medieval designs and working with traditional tools like:
- gold leaf
- Vellum
- Garlic juice Emphasis is placed on replicating the historical experience using authentic materials to create unique artworks. Key learning points include:
- gilded letters
- zodiac signs
- Completing a complete illuminated miniature Additionally, participants can:
- Copy pre-designed images for guidance.
- Bring in their own designs to personalize the experience.

Mastering basic techniques
Handling gold leaf, vellum preparation, using pigment and brushes.

Crafting gilded letters
Learning proper application techniques for gold lettering.
Embarking on a complete illuminated miniature
Applying learned skills to create a detailed miniature artwork from concept to completion.
