Entry Requirements:


For Ontario high school students:

  • OSSD: An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  • Minimum Overall Average: 65% average for the entire OSSD.
  • Six Grade 12 U or M Level Courses: Including:
  • Grade 12 U English:
  • With a minimum grade of 65%.
  • Grade 11 or 12 U or M Level Mathematics: With a minimum grade of 60%.

For mature students:

  • Applicants who meet the above requirements, but haven't received formal education within the past year, can still be considered.
  • 19 years old
  • Subject prerequisites must be met prior to registration.

Selection Process:

  • Digital Portfolio Required: Consisting of the following:
  • Four creative pieces:
  • Perspective line drawing of a chair, from your hand and with construction lines.
  • Perspective line drawing of an interior space or building facade, from real life, not imagination or photographs.
  • Colour still life study with specified objects: teacup, book, transparent glass vessel, silver candlestick, including all in one drawing with proper representation of colour, composition, texture, reflection, shade and shadow.
  • One work of your choice: 3D object design, a non-listed type of work, interior design related work.
  • Written document (350 words): Describing your interest in and knowledge of interior design, including research on current issues and influences on your career decision.
  • Provide descriptions for each portfolio image, including date, medium, and image/concept details.
  • Include on the Cover Sheet: Full name, OCAS and/or Georgian College student numbers (both if available), address, phone number, email address.
  • Portfolio Submission: Upload your portfolio as a single multiple-page Adobe .PDF to portfolios@georgiancollege.ca, named like: yourname_student#_interiordesign.pdf.
  • You can create your portfolio in PowerPoint first.
  • Portfolio Due Date: Within 2 weeks of application.
  • Offers are given on a first come first serve basis so prompt submission is in your best interest.
