International candidates are expected to have educational qualifications of a standard equivalent to those outlined above. Additionally, non-native English speakers must demonstrate competency in the English language.
Mature Applicants
Mature applicants must be 23 years of age or older by January 1st in the year of entry and must sit a test. They are also assessed by the Nursing Careers Centre (NCC) of An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (NMBI).
- Mature entry applications must be submitted through the Central Applications Office (CAO) by February 1st or May 1st.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
Non-native English speakers must demonstrate competency in English by achieving a minimum score on one of the following English language proficiency tests:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0
- TOEFL: 90 overall, with a minimum of 20 in each section
- PTE Academic: 62 overall, with no communicative skill below 54
