Program Overview

The BCL (Law and Society) degree at DCU provides a comprehensive understanding of law's role in society, combining core legal modules with a focus on the social and political context of law. BCL (Law and Society):

This degree is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the role of law in society. It combines core legal modules with a focus on the social and political context of law. Students will learn about the historical development of law, the legal system in Ireland, the European Union, and international law. They will also gain insights into the relationship between law and society, and the impact of law on social issues such as crime, inequality, and human rights.

Description:

The BCL (Law and Society) degree is a three-year full-time program that consists of a mixture of compulsory and optional modules. In first year, all modules are compulsory. In years two and three, students will choose from a range of optional modules to specialize in areas of interest.
