Degree Overview:
- Overview: Prepares students for careers as plumbers, installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems (copper, plastic, etc.) and plumbing fixtures.
- Objectives:
- Equip students with the expertise to work in diverse settings like educational and healthcare facilities, construction businesses, maintenance departments, and manufacturing plants.
- Provide a foundation for further apprenticeship training and career advancement.
- Program Description:
- Offers both Foundation and four levels of Apprentice technical training.
- Foundation training is incorporated into the Citation in Plumbing and Piping program.
- Students who complete the Citation program can pursue apprenticeships in Plumbing, Steamfitting/Pipefitting, or Sprinkler Systems.

- Foundation training: Full-time, 25 weeks at Cloverdale Campus.

Foundation Training:
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Minimum age of 16
- Successful completion of the following Grade 10 courses (or equivalent):
- Math 10
- English 10
- Science 10
- A minimum C+ in any 2 of these courses listed below:
- Social Studies 10
- Career Education 10
- French 10 or equivalent language
Apprentice Training:
- Completion of the Foundation program
- Must be registered with the Industry Training Authority (ITA) as a Plumbing Apprentice
- Successful completion of a Level 1 Entrance Exam
- Completion of a Level 1 Technical Training program at a designated post-secondary institution

Language Proficiency Requirements:
The Plumbing and Piping program at KPU is offered in English. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English by meeting one of the following requirements:
- Completion of an English 12 course within the last three years with a minimum grade of C+
- Minimum score of 6.0 on the IELTS Academic test
- Minimum score of 80 on the TOEFL iBT test
- Successful completion of the KPU English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program
