Degree Overview:
This four-year program includes an initial full-time Foundation Year, offering an alternative route into university and gaining a degree for those who don't have the necessary qualifications, haven't finished their education, or are returning to it and need support. The program focuses on developing creative writing skills, imaginative flexibility, and literary analysis of English texts from different historical periods and genres. Students can develop key skills in English and Creative Writing, with options to study English Language and Linguistics. They'll work with published writers and subject specialists to learn how to communicate and create for both professional and personal purposes. The program includes creative writing workshops focused on giving and receiving constructive criticism, and introduces students to speech-writing and the power of words, as well as writing their own life stories and the stories of others. They will also learn about writing in English through reading, discussing, and responding creatively to a range of great literary texts. The program teaches students how to read and analyze poetry and short stories, as well as how to compare past and modern texts in the same genre.

- GCSE English language: Grade C or 4 (or higher)
- A-Level: Minimum of 104 UCAS points, including a minimum of two full A-Levels.
- BTEC Extended Diploma: Minimum of a Merit grade in a relevant subject.
- T Level: Pass in a relevant subject.
- Access to Higher Education Diploma: Pass in a relevant subject with a minimum of 45 credits at level 3.
- Other qualifications: Applicants with other qualifications, including international qualifications, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
International Overseas Students (Outside the EU):
- Equivalent qualifications to UK GCSE English language: Grade C or 4 (or higher)
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum of 24 points, including a minimum of 15 points in higher level subjects.
- A-Level: Minimum of 104 UCAS points, including a minimum of two full A-Levels.
- Other qualifications: Applicants with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
