Entry Requirements:
GCSE Requirements:
- GCSEs in English Language or English Literature, Maths and Science at grade 4/C (or equivalent) will be required.
A-Level Requirements:
- A minimum of 64 UCAS points from a minimum of two A Levels or equivalent qualifications.

BTEC Requirements:
- A BTEC National Diploma or Extended Diploma in a relevant subject with a minimum of Merit grade.

Other Qualifications:
- A variety of level 3 qualifications are accepted. Please note that in accordance with DfE guidance, qualifications in key and functional skills at level 2 are not equivalent to GCSEs in terms of content and therefore do not meet the minimum entry requirements of the course.
- Applicants with non-standard qualifications, such as international qualifications, will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Additional Entry Requirements:
- In addition to the academic entry requirements, you will also need to meet the additional entry requirements set by the DfE for selection. This includes a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) criminal records check and a health check that demonstrates fitness to train to teach prior to the start of the course.
- Applicants also need to demonstrate the commitment, attitudes and values appropriate to those of a primary teacher and the potential to train as a teacher. Strong applicants often have experience in primary schools, but this is not a requirement.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
IELTS:
- Applicants whose first language is not English must achieve an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
TOEFL:
- Applicants whose first language is not English must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 88 overall with a minimum of 20 in reading, 20 in listening, 24 in speaking, and 21 in writing.
Other English Language Proficiency Tests:
- Other English language proficiency tests may be accepted, such as the Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) or the Cambridge English Advanced (CAE). Please contact the Admissions Office for more information.
