Sustainable and Safe Event Management

Program Overview

This 8-week short course from Queen Margaret University equips participants with knowledge and skills in both sustainable event management and health and safety principles within the event industry. Delivered online with live sessions and independent study, it covers topics such as sustainable development policies, health and safety principles, and innovative sustainability or safety improvements. The course is suitable for various roles within the events industry and offers free places for eligible Scottish residents.

This short course aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills in both sustainable event management and health and safety principles within the event industry.

Content:

• Sustainable Development Policies: Focuses on policies relevant to the events industry, including the Triple Bottom Line and its impact on communities, legacy and sustainability of large events, and the role of government intervention.
• Health and Safety Principles: Covers principles applicable to the events industry, encompassing legal aspects, crowd accident prevention measures, and safe event organization.
