Program Overview

This program delves into the pathological processes of various systems, including endocrine, reproductive, genitourinary, and nervous (including mental health). It covers the medications used to manage related medical conditions, focusing on their properties, mechanisms, and considerations relevant to pharmacy technicians. The program consists of 45 hours of lectures, scheduled on Tuesdays and Fridays.

• Course Content: Examine the pathological processes that underlie diseases and disorders of the endocrine, reproductive, genitourinary, and nervous systems (including mental health).
Study the medications used to manage and treat related medical conditions including their generic and brand names, place in therapy, mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, precautions, adverse effects, auxiliary labels, and other considerations as they pertain to the pharmacy technician’s scope of practice.
