Program Overview

CMPT3510 is a 3-credit course that introduces students to machine learning concepts and algorithms. Students will learn to apply machine learning to solve business problems and understand the stages of a machine learning project. Prerequisites include STAT 1151, MATH 1001, and CMPT 2400.

• Introduces major machine learning concepts and several fundamental machine learning algorithms.
• Students will learn to conceptualize machine learning solutions for basic business problems.
• Students will learn the stages of realizing a machine learning project:
• Defining the business problem
• Preparing data
• Creating and evaluating machine learning models

• A minimum grade of C in STAT 1151
• MATH 1001
