The Bachelor of Surveying and Spatial Sciences with Honours (N4N) is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time course offered by the College of Sciences and Engineering in Hobart. The program aims to:

  • Provide advanced in-depth knowledge in a single area of spatial information science
  • Offer opportunities for training in research
  • Prepare students for postgraduate research and employment in research organizations
  • Provide advanced courses in selected areas of spatial information science

Outline:

The Honours course consists of coursework and thesis as prescribed by the degree coordinator. Coursework will be appropriate for the particular research topic chosen and will constitute 25% of the assessment. With the agreement of the degree coordinator, candidates may select from Group 2, 3, and 4 units offered by the College of Sciences and Engineering.

  • KGG422 Honours Project A: Provides opportunities for students to undertake activities related to their dissertation topic.
  • KGG423 Honours Project B: Continues the activities related to the dissertation topic.
  • KGG445 Thesis Part A: Involves work related to the production of an original thesis on an approved subject in spatial information science.
  • KGG446 Thesis Part B: Continues the work on the original thesis.
