The program focuses on the relationship between character and conflict in fiction writing. Students will learn how to create richly imagined characters and how to challenge them with conflicts that threaten their hidden, most deeply held desires, forcing them to act in ways that change the world around them.


Structure:

The program consists of 10 weekly sessions, each of which includes a discussion of sample fiction to identify craft tools that help determine and convey the flaws in characters, and weekly writing exercises to put theory into practice.
