Program Overview
This course explores contemporary art in Los Angeles through in-person gallery, studio, and museum visits, as well as live Zoom discussions. Led by an experienced instructor, students will analyze and contextualize the work they encounter, gaining insights into the local art scene and the broader contemporary art world.

- The course focuses on art being created in Los Angeles at the current moment.
- The course consists of five sessions, three of which will be in-person and two live on Zoom.
- During each in-person class, students will visit galleries, artists’ studios, or a museum, where they will meet with gallery directors, artists, and curators.
- On Zoom, through both PowerPoint presentations and discussions, students will analyze and review what was seen and set the work in context with regard to the artists’ oeuvres and the contemporary art world as a whole.
