Program Overview
This course examines the life of Rembrandt, using his experiences to illustrate how personal choices and external factors can shape one's life and career. Students will explore Rembrandt's artistic innovations, personal tragedies, and the political and economic climate of the Dutch Republic during his lifetime. Through interactive components, students will also analyze the work of other Dutch portraitists to gain a deeper understanding of Rembrandt's unique style and impact.
