Movie Magic Budgeting Course

Program Overview

This 10-week course provides practical knowledge of the budgeting and producing process using Movie Magic software. Students will create production budgets, schedules, and other organizational procedures for physical production, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the industry-standard software and the budgeting and producing process.

This course is an exploration of Movie Magic, the industry-standard producing software. Students will gain practical knowledge budgeting and producing process by creating real production budgets, schedules, and other organizational procedures for physical production. This course is not an introduction to production.
• Objectives:
• Draft a successful budget based on different parameters for a production
• Obtain a practical understanding of the budgeting and producing process
• Structure:
• Class meets once a week for 10 weeks
• In-Person and Remote instruction is offered.
• Students will work on movie-of-the-week budgets based on pre-production information, including scripts, day-out-of-days, one-line schedules, shooting schedules, department budgets, and other hypothetical parameters.
