Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

  • Graduate diploma (Aquaculture) – Bachelor’s degree (minimum second class) in a relevant area of study; up to two seats per year are reserved for applicants of Indigenous ancestry who have met the admission requirements but are not in the top ranked candidates.
  • Graduate diploma, MMS (FRM) – Bachelor's degree (minimum second class) in an appropriate area of study; applicants will normally have a demonstrated commitment to the fishery through employment or experience in a sector of the fishery, in a regulatory agency or government department connected to the fisheries, in a non-governmental agency, or through self-employment or relevant professional consulting activities.
  • Master of Marine Studies (Aquaculture) - Bachelor’s degree (minimum second class) in a relevant area of study; up to two seats per year are reserved for applicants of Indigenous ancestry who have met the admission requirements but are not in the top ranked candidates.
  • MMS (MSPM) – Bachelor’s degree (minimum second class) in an appropriate area of study.
  • Admission is on a limited and competitive basis.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • Minimum TOEFL scores are: 580 for the paper-based test; 237 on the computer-based test; or 92 on the Internet-based test.
  • The minimum IELTS score is an overall band score of 7.0.
  • The minimum MUNTEL score is an overall band score of 70.
