Program Overview
The Chief Mate program offers modular courses to prepare students for the Chief Mate Certificate of Competency. Upon completion, graduates may serve as Chief Mate on unlimited voyage vessels, Master on vessels under 500 gross tonnage on near coastal voyages, or Master on sheltered waters voyage vessels.
