Program Overview
This online microcredential program equips nurses with the knowledge and skills to provide person-centered sexual health care, including STI management and contraceptive care. Through reflective journaling, discussions, quizzes, and a final exam, learners are assessed and must achieve a minimum grade of 75% to pass. The program is self-paced and designed for nurses seeking to enhance their reproductive health practice.

Learners are evaluated using the following tools:

- final exam A minimum grade of 75% is required in all components, including the final exam, to pass the course.
Teaching:
The program is delivered fully online and asynchronously. It is self-paced, and students are expected to spend an average of 4-6 hours per week of study time per course.

The microcredential provides the foundations for nurses passionate about providing person-centered sexual health care in the areas of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and contraceptive care. Graduates may pursue careers in reproductive health, STI management, and contraceptive care.
Additional Information:
- For registered nurses (RNs) looking to achieve reproductive-health-certified practice, these courses—with an STI placement within six months—are required by BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) in order to achieve certified practice.
- For RNs completing for STI-certified practice, entrance to NSPN 7735 and NSPN 7736 will only be approved with an organized practicum.
