Program Overview


This part-time Associate Certificate program in Mass Timber Construction runs from January to June and is delivered online, except for a 2-week in-person practicum. Students spend 8-10 hours per week on coursework and must complete all five courses with a minimum passing grade of 60% to obtain the certificate. Those who have completed the Introductory Studies in Mass Timber Construction Microcredential are eligible for advanced standing and a tuition credit.

Outline:

This program, which runs from January to June, is designed to be completed as a series of part-time courses using a cohort model, with students spending 8 to 10 hours per week on coursework. All courses are delivered online with the exception of one practicum course, which will be delivered in person at the Burnaby Campus in a compressed format over a 2-week timeframe. Students who have successfully completed the Introductory Studies in Mass Timber Construction Microcredential will be granted advanced standing in the Associate Certificate in Construction of Mass Timber Structures, and are eligible for a tuition credit applicable towards the cost of tuition for the Associate Certificate in Construction of Mass Timber Structures.


Assessment:

Each course must be completed successfully, with a minimum passing grade of 60%, in order to proceed to the next course in the program.
