The Associate Degree in Aviation (Professional Pilots) prepares you to undertake the CASA Certification as a Commercial Pilot and begin your career in the sky. The degree combines aviation theory with practical flying lessons to prepare you to undertake the CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) Commercial Pilot Licence theory and flight tests. Upon completion, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to pursue a career as a pilot.


Objectives:

  • Develop the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for a recreational pilot licence (RPL), a private pilot licence (PPL) and gain the aeronautical knowledge, practical skills and appropriate behaviours required to achieve the CASA certification as a Commercial Pilot.
  • Provide a foundation in aviation theory and practical flying skills to prepare you for a career in the aviation industry as a pilot.

Program Description:

The associate degree will equip you with the skills and knowledge to apply for a recreational pilot license (RPL), a private pilot license (PPL), and gain the aeronautical knowledge, practical skills and appropriate behaviours required to achieve the CASA certification as a Commercial Pilot. In your first and second years, you will take subjects spanning the theory and practical skills and knowledge required for recreational, private and commercial pilot licenses, and instrument rating. You will also study aviation industry, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development for STEM in your second year. In your second year, you will choose between subjects in instrument rating and air transport, and instructor theory and flying.

You must have successfully completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) (or equivalent qualification).
