Program Overview

This program prepares students for careers in family and consumer science education, the textile and apparel industry, and nutrition and dietetics. Students will gain knowledge and skills in parenting, child development, family studies, nutrition, textiles, and more. With a teaching certificate, graduates can pursue teaching careers in middle schools, high schools, or community colleges.

• Family and Consumer Science Educator: With a teaching certificate, pursue teaching careers in middle schools, high schools, or community colleges, instructing courses in parenting, child development, family studies, nutrition, or textiles.
• Textile and Apparel Industry Professional: Work in various sectors of the textile and apparel industry, such as design, production, marketing, and distribution.
• Nutritionist or Dietician: Continue education and pursue a career in hospitals, clinics, schools, or community organizations, providing nutrition education, counseling, and support to individuals and families.
