Program Overview
This 13-credit certificate program prepares students to operate small Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and integrate UAV-collected photo data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Graduates will gain knowledge of federal regulations, drone applications for GIS, and spatial reference systems. The program includes courses in UAV operations, GIS, and ArcView.

Upon successful completion of this 13-credit certificate program, graduates will be familiar with the uses and application of UAV photography and be prepared to take the FAA certification exam to operate a small Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV). They will be able to plan and implement data collection missions and integrate UAV collected photo data into GIS.

- Understand Drone applications for Geographic Information Systems
- Identify and apply appropriate spatial reference systems for UAV operations
- Import UAV collected data into a GIS project and conduct spatial queries
