  • Apply theories, principles, and concepts to address skills learned that would apply to Cosmetology.

  • Critically consider, analyze, and research special issues in Cosmetology and their effects on society.

The Cosmetology AS degree program includes the following courses:


Required Core Courses:

  • COSM 701 Cosmetology Core Concepts (6 units):
  • Introduces students to the fundamental principles and practices of cosmetology, including sanitation, safety, communication, client consultation, skin care, and hair care.
  • COSM 702 Cosmetology Hair Design Concepts (6 units):
  • Develops students' skills in hair cutting, styling, coloring, and chemical services.
  • COSM 703 Cosmetology Chemical Concepts (3 units):
  • Covers the theory and application of chemical services, including hair coloring, perming, and relaxing.
  • COSM 704 Cosmetology Intermediate Concepts (6 units):
  • Advances students' skills in hair design, chemical services, and skin care.
  • COSM 705 Cosmetology Business and Salon Experience (9 units):
  • Prepares students for the business aspects of cosmetology, including salon management, marketing, and customer service.
