Overview:
This innovative and groundbreaking pathway addresses access and equity concerns in education by offering a distinct route to obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree. Its primary goal is to mitigate the alarmingly high teacher turnover in rural and remote regions.
Objectives:
- Provide an opportunity for aspiring educators to obtain a Bachelor of Education degree remotely, in the convenience of their home communities
- Equip graduates with the critical knowledge, skills, and experiences to make an immediate impact as educators in remote and rural schools
Program Description:
- Majority of coursework is delivered online
- Field experience (practicum) conducted within or close to the student's home community
- On-campus summer residency series allows students to engage with peers, faculty, and participate in professional development opportunities
